  1. Achievement till date

 

                            

 

                                     THE WINNING TEAM – JUST BEFORE THE FACILITATION BY SHRI M. V. RAO, IAS, DISTRICT

                                      MAGISTRATE OF PASCHIM MEDINIPUR DISTRICT

 

Year 2003 – 04

               

        1.   Consecutive second time in  its  history  of  Paschim Medinipur  district, U-14 School District Cricket team became the Champion in the state of West Bengal in this age group. The Jhargram Cricket Academy Claims its share in this glorious honour due to the fact that the District team of Paschim Medinipur participated in the State Championship under the stewardship of the Jhargram cricket Academy, and out of the strength of 15 team members of  the winning team 10 members were from the Jhargram Cricket Academy. The most exciting aspect of the situation is that out of these ten trainees of our Academy, four trainees were selected to represent the West Bengal State School Cricket Team to compete in the National Championship to be held later this year at Hyderabad, A.P.

 

2.      Eight trainees represented the under-16 cricket team of Paschim Midnapur school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

 

3.      The team of our Academy participated in the “Pepsi Junior CAB Cricket     Tournament” (Selection criteria 110 Points), organized by The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and has qualified to participate in the next year’s tournament.

 

4.      Team of our Academy was invited to participate in the “Ambar Roy Sub-Junior Cricket Tournament” (Selection criteria 95 Points), organized by The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB); and qualifies to participate in the next year’s tournament directly.

 

Year 2002 – 03

               

                1.   For  the first time in  its  history  of  Medinipur  district  (even  when  it  was  undivided),  Paschim

                   Midnapore U-14 School District Cricket team became the Champion in the state of West Bengal

                   in this age group. The Jhargram Cricket Academy Claims its share in this glorious honour due to

                   the fact that the district team of Paschim Medinipur participated in the State Championship under

                   the stewardship of the Jhargram cricket Academy, and out of the strength of 16 team members of

 the winning team 12 members were from the Jhargram Cricket Academy. The most exciting aspect of the situation is that out of these twelve trainees of our Academy, five trainees were selected to represent the West Bengal State School Cricket Team to compete in the National Championship to be held later this year at Hyderabad, A.P.

 

5.      Five trainees represented the under-16 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

 

6.      One trainee represented the under-19 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

 

7.      The team of our Academy participated in the “Pepsi Junior CAB Cricket     Tournament” (Selection criteria 110 Points), organized by The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and has qualified to participate in the next year’s tournament.

9.      The team of our Academy came out as the Runners’ up in the D.P Bodhanwala Invitation Cup, held in Jamshedpur, under the chairpersonship of Mrs. J.D. Irani.

 

 

Year 2001 – 02

  

 

1.      Three trainees represented the under-14 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

2.      Three trainees represented the under-16 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

 

3.      Three trainees represented the under-19 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

 

4.      The team of our academy reached the semifinal of D.P Bodhanwala Invitation Cup, held in Jamshedpur, under the chairpersonship of Mrs. J.D. Irani.

 

 

Year 2000 – 01

 

1.      Five trainees represented the under-14 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

2.      Two trainees represented the under-16 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

 

3.      Two trainees represented the under-19 cricket team of Midnapore school District cricket team in the inter-district championship of this age group in our state.

 

4.      The team of our Academy reached the semifinal of D.P Bodhanwala Invitation Cup, held in Jamshedpur, under the chairpersonship of Mrs. J.D. Irani.

 

 

10.  Patron ship of the people who matter

 

The Jhargram cricket Academy has remained privileged to be endowed with the patron ship of the people who matter in this small township. The patrons of this Academy includes

(i)                  The Chairman, Midnapore sports Development Academy, Jhargram Unit,

(ii)                The chairman, Jhargram Municipality,

(iii)               Distinguished citizens of the township of Jhargram.

 

       6.   Affiliation of the CAB

 

It is matter of great honour and pride that our Academy, even at such an early stage, has been able to obtain the affiliation of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), which would definitely give the Academy and its trainees a kind of leverage to succeed in their endeavour.
